Abstract
The first part of the text reviews the origins and development of security in England and the United States, career opportunities in loss prevention, security education and training, and security certification and regulation. The second part of the text covers security functions and specifically deals with security's role (public versus private), proprietary security organizations, and security and the law. The third part of the text presents an indepth look at risk analysis, security surveys, building and perimeter protection, interior and exterior security concerns, intrusion and access control, fire protection and safety, emergency planning, and internal theft controls.
