The Dutch welfare state calls for employers to pay considerable amounts of money to the government in the form of taxes and insurance on each employee.
Abstract
By not paying such taxes and insurance, illegal labor recruiters have been estimated to defraud the government of approximately fifteen billion guilders per year. The problems for the police are compounded by the international aspects of many of these operations. Nevertheless, the police of the Netherlands have devised a number of successful strategies for use against this type of crime. (Publisher abstract)
