Abstract
The first series of essays looks at how to train inmates to succeed in the outside world, problems confronted by law enforcement agencies, ethical issues in how police should respond to hostage situations, and fair treatment of both victims and defendants. Subsequent essays explore prison overcrowding, rehabilitation, alternatives to institutionalization, police organization, juvenile delinquency, and female roles as both correctional officers and offenders in the criminal justice system. Other essays examine the interactionist approach to crime and corrections, boot camp corrections, teaching ethics in criminal justice, ethical issues in criminological research, and probation and parole trends.
