A DISCUSSION OF THE ALTERNATIVES FACING PROSTITUTES UPON RELEASE FROM PRISON, WITH SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW PRISONS CAN BEST PREPARE CONVICTED PROSTITUTES FOR FIND AND KEEPING JOBS.
Abstract
THE PRESSURES TOWARD A RETURN TO PROSTITUTION UPON RELEASE ARE DISCUSSED. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT AN EFFECTIVE CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM SHOULD INCLUDE EDUCATION TESTING, VOCATIONAL AND INTEREST TESTING, EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING, AND PRE-RELEASE COUNSELING. UPON RELEASE, JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES WOULD BE PROVIDED, AFTER WHICH FOLLOWUP OBSERVATIONS WOULD MONITOR PROGRESS.
