This pamphlet contains judicial and criminal statistics of the Netherlands for 1982. They elucidate the activities of police and courts, and give particulars on crimes and offenders. Attention is also paid to the infliction and execution of penalties.
Abstract
The data were obtained from monthly reports submitted by the State and municipal police on crimes brought to their notice and of the known suspects per municipality. Data on victims of crimes have been derived from a sample survey among Dutch people aged 15 years and over concerning 16 selected crimes. Other topics represented in the statistics are shoplifting, cases prosecuted as well as recorded non-indictable offenses, offender characteristics, inmate populations, child care and protection measures, suicide, and bankruptcy. The bulk of the document is in tabular form.
