Abstract
A BRIEF STATEMENT ON THE NATURE OF THE URBAN CRISIS AND ON THE CENTRAL ROLE OF LAW IN CONTEMPORARY URBAN LIFE. ALSO INCLUDED IS A DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE JUSTICE IN URBAN AMERICA SERIES MAY FACILITATE THE STUDY OF URBAN AFFAIRS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. SUGGESTIONS ON ENCOURAGING STUDENT INQUIRY, SELECTING LESSON CONTENT AND AIMS, CONDUCTING A DISCUSSION, AND UNDERSTANDING LEGAL FORMS ARE GIVEN. A BIBLIOGRAPHY FOR TEACHERS ON SUCH TOPICS AS LAW AND THE CITY, CRIMES AND JUSTICE, LAW AND THE CONSUMER, POVERTY AND WELFARE, LANDLORD AND TENANT, AND YOUTH AND THE LAW IS PROVIDED AS WELL.
