Abstract
Data on the juvenile branch cover the number of 1987 new cases disposed by type of case and percent distribution, police arrests and remedial dispositions (1983-87), new cases disposed (1983-87), and a juvenile branch statistical summary for 1983-87 (filings, cases disposed, new referrals, juvenile cases under investigation, children under supervision, payments received, and court sessions). Data on delinquency cases address the cases disposed for 1987 by age and sex, cases disposed for 1983-87, new cases disposed by type of hearing (1983-87), type of offenses disposed (1987), offender characteristics, and institutions and agencies to which delinquent children were committed. Similar data are provided for nondelinquency cases. Data on adult cases pertain to crimes against children over which the juvenile branch has jurisdiction. Narrative information is provided for the Special Services Office, which involves citizens in the juvenile justice system through a volunteer program. Statistics for the Enforcement cases pertain to the collection and disbursement of restitution payments imposed by the court. Narrative information is provided on the work of the Juvenile Restitution and Community Services Project, which guides and assists youth given restitution disposition or community service assignments. 31 tables.
