Abstract
THE INSTITUTE THEME WAS 'PLANNING AND MANAGING FOR CHANGE IN THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM' AND ITS OBJECTIVE WAS TO ASSIST JUDGES AND ADMINISTRATORS INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT NEW TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS AND DEVELOP MORE EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT SKILLS. AN INSTRUMENTED LABORATORY WAS THE SETTING FOR EXAMINATION OF INTERPERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION, DECISION-MAKING AND PROBLEM -SOLVING, STYLES OF MANAGEMENT RELATED TO ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL ACHIEVEMENT, TREATMENT MODALITIES, LEGAL ISSUES, USE OF VOLUNTEERS, THE ROLES OF ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM AS COMMUNITY CHANGE AGENTS, AND DIVERSION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH FROM THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM.
