THE FOLLOWING FAMILY CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH DELINQUENCY: BROKEN MARRIAGES; HOUSEHOLDS WITH AN ATMOSPHERE OF SQUALOR AND DETERIORATION; A PREDOMINANCE OF MINOR ACTS OF PHYSICAL AGGRESSION, EITHER BY PARENTS AS A DISCIPLINARY MEASURE OR BY SIBLINGS; OPEN HOSTILITY BETWEEN PARENTS; A BAD WORK RECORD BY THE FATHER; POOR HOUSING; LARGE FAMILIES; AND INADEQUATE FOOD AND CLOTHING.
