PSYCHOCULTURAL APPROACH LOOKING FOR SUBCULTURAL PRESSURES WHICH MIGHT PROVIDE FRESH SOCIAL POLICY GUIDELINES TO DEAL WITH DELINQUENCY.
Abstract
WHAT IS NEEDED, THE AUTHOR FEELS, IS A POLICY APPROACH WHICH SEES ECONOMICALLY LOWER-CLASS DELINQUENCY AS JUST ONE OF A SET OF RELATED SOCIAL ILLS ARISING FROM A WHOLE WAY OF LIFE THAT MAY BE CHARACTERISTIC OF SOME DEPRIVED SUBCULTURE. PROGRAMS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TOWARD THE PROSOCIAL MODIFICATIONS OF SENTIMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCES, FOR THE COMMUNITY INTEGRATION OF HUMAN RESOURCES. PROGRAMS SHOULD ALSO LEAD TO PROGRESSIVE MODIFICATION OF INSTITUTIONS IN THE DIRECTION OF INDIGENOUS STAFFING AS WELL AS SERVICES, FOR THE SAME PURPOSE.
