THE PURPOSE OF HUMANITIES IN THE AREA OF JUVENILE JUSTICE IS BRIEFLY ASSESSED, AND THE DEFINITION OF JUSTICE IS CONSIDERED.
Abstract
HUMANISTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING A WHOLESOME CHAOS WITHIN THE AREA OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM INTERFERING WITH A SUPERFICIAL ORDER PRODUCED BY OVERSIMPLIFIED AND HASTY ANSWERS. HUMANISTS ASK FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS ABOUT ALTERNATIVES AND OPTIONS, HISTORICAL MODES OF HANDLING HUMAN PROBLEMS, AND THE PROVISIONS BEING MADE TO TREAT CONCERNED SUBJECTS AS INDIVIDUAL HUMAN BEINGS. TRADITIONALLY, THE IDEAL OF JUSTICE HAS BEEN DEFINED AS SEEING THAT INDIVIDUALS GET WHAT THEY DESERVE WHEN EVERYTHING IS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. JUSTICE WHICH EXCLUDES MERCY IS A PARODY OF JUSTICE, AND IF IT WERE CONSISTENTLY ENFORCED, IT WOULD RESULT IN UNIVERSAL PUNISHMENT. (DAG)
