1994
Length
8 pages
Annotation
This flow chart displays the process involved in planning juvenile drug treatment at each stage of the criminal justice process, including intake or arrest, the social investigation, the fact-finding hearing, adjudication, and disposition.
Abstract
Individual components indicate areas involving continual interagency communication, areas in which interagency coordination is involved, and potential linkages between steps that may or may not occur. Each part of the planning chart lists specific areas to consider, such as drug testing, detoxification, assessment, treatment, relapse prevention family counseling, community reintegration, other human services, and assessment for the risk of infectious diseases. The relationships among the police, the judicial authority, and drug treatment and prevention are also depicted. A glossary provides detailed definitions of each of the terms used.
