Abstract
THE BOOKLET OF 39 ITEMS WAS PREPARED BY THE KANSAS ADULT AUTHORITY, BASED ON ITS PAROLE RULES AND REGULATIONS. THE BASIC QUESTION MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED IS HOW TO OBTAIN RELEASE ON PAROLE FOR WHICH THE BOOKLET PROVIDES ANSWERS. FIRST, PAROLE ELIGIBILITY IS DESCRIBED, INCLUDING PAROLE IN CASES OF MULTIPLE SENTENCES, GOOD TIME CREDITS, AND HANDLING OF TIME SPENT IN LOCAL CUSTODY. NEXT, PROCEDURES INVOLVED IN A PAROLE HEARING WITH THE KANSAS ADULT AUTHORITY ARE EXPLAINED. THIRD, CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ACCEPTABLE PAROLE PLAN BY THE KANSAS ADULT AUTHORITY IS DISCUSSED. OVERALL, TOPICS ADDRESSED INCLUDE PAROLE CONDITIONS, OUT-OF-STATE PAROLE, CONDITIONAL RELEASE, PAROLE VIOLATIONS, GUNS, BREAKING OF PAROLE, AND PAROLEES' CIVIL RIGHTS. A GOOD TIME TABLE, WHICH LISTS CREDITS FOR INMATES SENTENCED AFTER JANUARY 1, 1979, AND AN ADDRESS FROM WHICH TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, ARE ALSO PROVIDED. (CFW)
