Kansas City Police Department (Missouri) activities and accomplishments for 1981 are presented in this annual report.
Abstract
The responsibilities of each bureau within the Department are explained, and a chart delineates the Department's organization. Discussed are the Office of the Chief of Police, the Field Services Bureau, the Investigations Bureau, the Fiscal and Audit Bureau, the Administrative Services Bureau, and the Technical Support Bureau. Awards given to officers are listed. Note is made of Kansas City's largest loss of human life in a single incident at the Hyatt Regency Hotel disaster, in which part of the building collapsed, killing several hundred people in the lobby and involving the Department's Special Operations Plan in emergency coordination. A financial and statistical summary containing personnel data, offense data, arrest data, etc. concludes the report. Photographs are supplied.
