Abstract
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE KANSAS LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER INCLUDE CERTIFICATION OF SCHOOLS FOR INSTRUCTION OF THE MINIMUM 120 HOURS OF THE BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING COURSE, PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT FOR TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND CONDUCTING 6 BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING SCHOOLS OF 160 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR. EXPANDED TRAINING PROGRAMMING, THROUGH ADDITION OF BASIC TRAINING SCHOOL, A 40 HOUR SCHOOL ON NARCOTICS AND DANGEROUS DRUGS, AN ORIENTATION SEMINAR FOR NEWLY ELECTED SHERIFFS, AND AN IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMS IS OUTLINED. A RECAPITULATION OF CERTIFIED SCHOOLS AND NUMBERS OF OFFICERS CERTIFIED, AND A SUMMARY OF AGENCIES IN PARTICIPATION ARE PROVIDED. ROSTERS OF BASIC SCHOOLS, SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT SCHOOLS, AND NARCOTICS AND DANGEROUS DRUGS AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS SCHOOLS ARE GIVEN.
