PAPER DESCRIBES THE SCOPE AND OPERATIONS OF THE KANSAS STATE COMPREHENSIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT PLAN AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS (SCLEP-TEL).
Abstract
SCLEP-TELS CAN BE DEFINED AS EQUIPMENT, ORGANIZATIONS, OR PROCEDURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: PUBLIC ACCESS, COMMAND AND CONTROL SUPPORT, DATA SYSTEMS ACCESS, AND INTERAGENCY COORDINATION. LAW ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS ARE ORDINARILY COMPOSED OF EITHER RADIO NETWORKS, DEDICATED WIRE NETWORKS, DISPATCH CENTER INFORMATION PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, OR TERMINAL EQUIPMENT. THE REPORT EXPLAINS HOW THE KANSAS SCLEP-TEL WORKS AND HOW OTHER STATE SCLEP-TEL INTERFACE WITH IT. ALSO INCLUDED ARE LONG-RANGE PLANS ON LAW ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITIES....BS
