THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OFFICE OF CRIME PREVENTION IN TERMS OF ITS GOALS AND OBEJCTIVES AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EIGHT STEP CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM.
Abstract
THESE EIGHT STEPS, OR SUB-PROGRAMS, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: OPERATION IDENTIFICATION; OPERATION CRIME REPORT (TO ENCOURAGE CITIZEN CRIME REPORTING); OPERATION HOME SECURITY; OPERATION BUSINESS SECURITY; OPERATION NIEGHBORHOOD WATCH; OPERATION LOCK IT AND POCKET THE KEY (AUTO SECURITY); OPERATION FRAUD CONTROL (CONSUMER FRAUD); AND OPERATION PERSONAL SECURITY (RAPE PREVENTION). OTHER GOALS OF THE CRIME PREVENTION OFFICE INCLUDE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATE WIDE ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CRIME PREVENTION, REGIONAL COMMITTEES, STATEWIDE ASSOCIATION OF CRIME PREVENTION OFFICERS, A MEDIA MASTER PLAN FOR CRIME PREVENTION, POLICE OFFICER TRAINING PROGRAM IN CRIME PREVENTION, AND A MODEL SECURITY CODE.
