Abstract
The reported rates of murders, sex offenses, robbery without a weapon, robbery with a firearm, motor vehicle theft, stealing from the person, stealing from a retail store, and malicious damage to property had no significant changes between January 1995 and June 1996. In contrast, assaults, robbery with a weapon other than a firearm, breaking and entering into a dwelling, stealing from motor vehicles, and stealing from dwellings all increased significantly. The number of criminal cases registered in the local courts, the district courts, and the Supreme Court declined significantly between July 1991 and June 1996. The total inmate population increased significantly between July 1991 and June 1996. The number of juveniles registered to appear each month in the Children's Courts also increased significantly.
