This report provides a comprehensive overview of crime and police services for the King County Sheriff's Office for fiscal year 2006.
Abstract
In 2006, there were 19,373 Part I offenses compared to 21,589 in 2005 and 21,205 Part II offenses in 2006 compared to 21,313 in 2005. There were a total of 124,135 dispatched calls for service in 2006 compared to 124,421 in 2005. The total number of domestic violence related incident calls was 4,169 in 2006 compared to 4,462 in 2005. Adult charges or arrests jumped from 10,968 in 2005 to 12,442 in 2006. Crime data is presented by precincts (precincts two through five) in the areas of Part I and II offenses, larcenies, and domestic violence. Under the criminal investigation division, police activity is presented in the areas of major investigations, special investigations, specialized units, adult and juvenile charges, arrests, and citations, data control, dispatched calls for service, and response times. Under special operations, police activity is presented in the areas of traffic enforcement, traffic accident investigation, specialized units, marine unit, community-oriented, and metro transit. Comprehensive statistical data are provided and presented in relation to police activity for the King County Sheriff's Office for fiscal year 2006. Tables, charts, and glossary of terms
