This article describes a South Carolina college student who leads a neo-Nazi group, denying his Jewish ancestry.
Abstract
Davis Wolfgang Hawke, a.k.a Bo Decker, was originally Andy Greenbaum. He officially changed his name while in high school, the same time he created his "Ministry of Racial Unity" and modern-day SS ("Security Service"). Now a student at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Hawke/Decker has established a hotline and a Website for his Knights of Freedom group. Although he claims a membership of more than 1,000, in reality it is between 100 and 150, mostly bad-boy high school and college students. He sees himself as an evil genius destined to rule the world and speaks of his exploits in wildly exaggerated terms, even as he mocks grown-up leaders in the white supremacist movement. He seems fixated on disgust for the parents who raised him, and for their world. A recent interview with Newsweek magazine, which Hawke/Decker thought might be accompanied by his picture on the cover, relegated him to a page 23 mention, in an article about someone else.
