This article describes one technique for reversing the black-white relationship of latent fingerprint images.
Abstract
When latent prints are treated with a fluorescing agent and photographed with black and white film under laser illumination, a "white" fingerprint results in the printed photograph. It is sometimes quite difficult to compare the white ridges of the latent fingerprint to the black ridges of the inked fingerprint, and usually a photographic process is used to reverse the white ridges to become black. This article describes how that process can be accomplished in the absence of comprehensive photographic capabilities. specifically, using a laser with 35mm Polaroid black-and- white slide film and a hand-operated processor.
