Abstract
THE BACKGROUND IS DISCUSSED FOR JURISDICTION, FEDERAL/ TRIBAL JURISDICTION, AND MAJOR/CRIMES JURISDICTION IS PRESENTED. PRESENT CHOCTAW LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE FUTURE ARE GIVEN. HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND THEIR RELATION TO CRIME AND LAW ENFORCEMENT ARE DETAILED. A PROPOSED MISSISSIPPI CHOCTAW CODE OF LAWS (1970) IS PRESENTED IN ITS ENTIRETY. MAJOR HEADINGS ARE JUDICIARY, CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, CRIMINAL OFFENSES, CIVIL PROCEDURE, DOMESTIC RELATIONS, JUVENILES, AND PROBATE PROCEDURE.
