Abstract
CALIFORNIA POLICEMEN REPORTED INDIVIDUAL INCIDENTS WHICH SEEMED TO BEST TYPIFY BOTH EFFECTIVE AND INEFFECTIVE INCIDENTS WITH JUVENILES. THE AUTHOR ISOLATED CHARACTERISTICS, SUCH AS THE USE OF FORCE, AND CLASSIFIED THE REPORTS BY OCCUPATION. THIS WORK PRESENTS A SAMPLING OF THE INCIDENT REPORTS, SOME ANALYSIS OF THE DATA, AND MANY SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH.
