Abstract
The LECC (www.iacpcybercenter.org) is an "online resource for help in combating cyber threats and cyber crimes." It is organized to meet the specific and practical needs of chiefs, investigators, line officers, digital forensic examiners, technical support staff, and other practitioners involved in preventing and investigating high-tech crimes. Under the direction of the U.S. Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the National White Collar Crime Center works in collaboration with the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Police Executive Research Forum to manage and support the LECC. LECC's investigative resources encompass model policies, guides, and white papers that address the detection, prevention, and investigation of high-tech crime. LECC's legal resources include explanations of recent legal decisions relevant to the preservation, handling, and admissibility of digital evidence. LECC users can search in a single database for upcoming online and in-person training classes, conferences, and other events relevant to countering high-tech crimes. New to LECC is quick access to its latest products and resources, which enables users to stay up-to-date on cyber scams on a cyber-crime blog.
