SAMPLE LESSON PLANS FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH GRADE BASED ON ONE OR MORE OF THE BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES ASSOCIATED WITH THE TOPICAL QUESTIONS INTO WHICH THE MATERIAL ON JUSTICE IS DIVIDED.
Abstract
THESE LESSON PLANS PROVIDE TEACHERS WITH SPECIFIC LESSONS ON EACH CONCEPT WHICH HAVE BEEN USED SUCCESSFULLY IN CLASSROOMS AT THEIR GRADE LEVEL AND WHICH THEY MAY USE IN THEIR OWN CLASSROOMS WITH SUITABLE MODIFICATION. FOR EXAMPLE, A LESSON ON THE CONCEPT JUSTICE AT THE K-2 LEVEL MIGHT BE BASED UPON TOPICAL QUESTION A 'WHAT IS JUST OR UNJUST? HOW SHOULD WE DECIDE WHAT IS JUST OR UNJUST?' AND BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVE 1 'STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY ISSUES CONCERNING THE FAIR DISTRIBUTION OF BENEFITS AND BURDENS, EVALUATE THEM IN TERMS OF FAIRNESS, AND GIVE REASONS FOR THEIR EVALUATIONS'. ALSO PROVIDED ARE MODELS FOR DEVELOPING LESSON PLANS BASED ON THE 'CURRICULUM' (NCJ-12561). FOR THE OTHER VOLUMES ON THE CONCEPT OF JUSTICE, SEE NCJ-12560, 12561, AND 12565. FOR AN OVERVIEW OF THE LAW IN A FREE SOCIETY SERIES, SEE NCJ-12570. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
