Abstract
The first section of the report, which is current through 1991, lists legislation related to the appointment of a guardian ad litem in criminal child abuse cases. Each statute is annotated; States included here are Alabama, Alaska, California, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, and Washington. The second section lists and summarizes legislation that allows a support person in the courtroom or a child advocate in criminal child abuse cases. States with this type of statute include Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Washington.
