THIS LIQUID SILICONE TECHNIQUE WAS DEVELOPED BY THE PEORIA, ILLINOIS, POLICE DEPARTMENT TO DEVELOP AN IMPRESSION LEFT IN SOFT WINDOW PUTTY AFTER OBLIQUE PHOTOGRAPHY FAILED TO EXPOSE ALL THE DESIRED MINUTIAE.
Abstract
A SILICONE RELEASING AGENT WAS USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER. AFTER THE CAST HAD SET UP FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES, IT WAS REMOVED, INKED AND ROLLED LIKE A NORMAL FINGERPRINT. THE USE OF THIS TECHNIQUE RESULTED IN THE SUSPECT'S CONVICTION.
