This manual guides staff teams in planning and implementing a drug abuse education program.
Abstract
Section I is a step-by-step guide that takes staff teams through a developmental process of assessing and identifying needs and approaches for education about drugs. At the end of Section I, the team should be capable of planning appropriate drug education strategy for specific groups, identifying aims and objectives, work methods, and resources. The guidelines do not specify a particular type of drug education program, but rather guide the staff in developing the program most appropriate for the group with which it works. Section II guides the staff in putting plans into action, either by using the sample exercises or by developing its own exercises. Sample media to use in the education include art, computers, support, discussion, drama, games, media studies, music, outdoor education, photography, and a training course. Resource list, bibliography, references, and pamphlet resources.
