In the fall semester of 1986, Herkimer County Community College offered a new, one-credit course in Ethics and Criminal Justice.
Abstract
The course concentrated on familiarizing students with the practical elements of ethics: moral logic, value analysis and clarification, and making and defending moral decisions. The course included much group work in which students publicly discussed and defended moral choices. The students made definite progress in developing moral concepts, were enthusiastic, and reinforced the instructor's belief that they were genuinely interested in questions of value. (Author abstract)
