PAPER CONCERNING THE SERVICE NEEDS OF MENTALLY ABNORMAL PERSONS IN ENGLAND WHO EXIBIT PERSISTENTLY ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR THAT IS LIKELY TO RESULT IN THEIR APPEARANCE BEFORE A CRIMINAL COURT.
Abstract
REASONS FOR THE EXISTENCE OF A SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF ABNORMAL OFFENDERS ARE EXPLORES, ALONG WITH SUGGESTIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW CONCEPTS FOR COPING WITH THE PROBLEM. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE NUMBER OF THIS GROUP COULD BE SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED BY THE AVAILABILITY OF BETTER EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, BETTER SOCIAL WORK SUPPORT, AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CHEAP, CLEAN, OVERNIGHT LODGINGS IN EVERY CITY. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT SERVICES TO MENTALY ABNORMAL PEOPLE WILL ONLY IMPROVE IF THE ACTIVITIES OF VARIOUS EXISTING SERVICES ARE COORDINATED. APPENDIXES INCLUDE PAPERS SUMMARIZING THE PROBLEM OF MENTAL ABNORMALITY AMONG PRISONERS.
