Abstract
In general, the Commission seeks to analyze crime data in the community it serves, to assess the impact of crime upon the community's citizens, to evaluate existing criminal justice agencies, and to promote public involvement in crime prevention. The report evaluates the Commission's progress toward objectives set for 1989, which included, inter alia, coordinating a computerized system to track offenders through the criminal justice system, operating a Statewide information clearinghouse, analyzing statistics on the State's jail population, assisting in the development of a drug law enforcement strategy, producing a television series on crime and justice, and providing staff support to local agencies. Staff activities, which can be broadly categorized as criminal justice coordination projects, criminal justice research and evaluation, program planning and development, and public relations, are summarized for the reporting period. 3 figures and 2 appendixes
