UNDER THE PROPER CONDITIONS, AUTOMOBILE TIRES LEAVE LUMINESCENT RESIDUE THAT CAN BE DETECTED UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT - PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES FOR PRESERVING THIS EVIDENCE ARE DISCUSSED.
Abstract
THE HIGHEST LUMINESCENT RESOLUTION CAN GENERALLY BE DETECTED ON PIECES OF SCRAP MATERIAL OVER WHICH THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN, OR, BETTER STILL, ON WHICH THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED. PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE SURFACE (PREPARED WITH LACQUER) INVOLVES THE USE OF ULTRAVIOLET LIGHTING AND A 2X YELLOW FILTER.
