Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE WAS TO SUPPLY SOME BASIC INFORMATION ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SECURITY INDUSTRY, TO DISCUSS PRACTICAL PROBLEMS IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIME CONTROL, AND TO ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SERIOUS ACADEMIC RESEARCH ON THESE ISSUES. THE TOPICS CONSIDERED INCLUDED SOCIOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF MAJOR PROPERTY CRIME, CRIME PREVENTION MANAGEMENT, LEGAL ASPECTS OF ENFORCEMENT AND CONTROL, PROPERTY SECURITY, ALARMS, INSURANCE AND CRIME PREVENTION, AND ACTIVITIES, POLICIES, AND TRENDS IN THE SECURITY INDUSTRY.
