This manual contains statistics on the characteristics and disposition of the population served by the Colorado Division of Youth Services (DYS) during fiscal year 1983-84, as well as comparative figures on population trends and client characteristics for previous years.
Abstract
Charts depict the numbers of youths filtered through the juvenile justice process from arrest through filing, intake, and commitment and each group's percentage of the total population for ages 12-17. Other tables give information on youths involved in individual DYS programs. Breakdowns cover sex and ethnic group, age at commitment, and number of commitments. Also detailed are juvenile commitments for each county and regional trends. The manual provides similar tables on youths in secure detention and diversion programs. Maps are included.
