ADDITIONAL MANPOWER IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE EVEN THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF PREVENTIVE PATROL SERVICE AS CALLED FOR BY THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE AND THE PEACE OFFICER STANDARDS AND TRAINING.
Abstract
AT PRESENT, THE FREMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES ONLY 25 PERCENT PREVENTIVE PATROL, A FAR CRY FROM THE RECOMMENDED OPTIMUM ALLOCATION OF 66 AND TWO-THIRDS PERCENT OR EVEN THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM OF 40 PERCENT. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT 18 MORE MEN ARE NEEDED TO PROVIDE PROPER SERVICES.
