This manual from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections presents guidance for inmates who are incarcerated at a State correctional facility.
Abstract
This manual was developed by the New Hampshire Department of Corrections for use by offenders incarcerated at one of the State's correctional facilities. The manual provided guidance to inmates on the behavior that is expected of them during their stay at a New Hampshire Department of Corrections (NH DOC) facility. The manual has five main sections that cover a variety of topics. Section I - Getting Started, covers issues related to quarantine, classification, and restitution. Section II - Settling In, covers counts, inmate appearance, opportunities, living areas, communication with staff, problem solving steps, personal and State property, procedures and rules, and disciplinary days (good conduct time). Section III - Services and Privileges, covers services and privileges available at State facilities. Section IV - Programs Available at NH DOC discusses progressive empowerment programs, educational programs, the vocational training center, recreation, the sexual offender treatment program, and the family connections center. Section V - Parole covers the various stages of parole: scheduling, waiver, notice of hearing, commencement of the parole hearing, witnesses, conclusion of the hearing, reconsideration hearings, criteria for granting and denying parole, and reasons for denial.
