This book examines the effects of marijuana on the human body.
Abstract
This book examines mental and physical risks both to current users and future generations. This publication presents the developing trend of evidence concerning marihuana uses: how cellular damage by cannabis is increasingly authenticated; how tolerance and substantial abstinence effects are now established; and how actions on the reproductive system and on development become increasingly problematic. Background information on cannabis sativa is provided with further analysis on whether marihuana is a mild intoxicant or a hallucinogenic drug. Further medical information provides insight into the various human functions: the psyche, the brain, the lungs, the reproduction system, the immune system, the genes, and the chromosomes. Finally discussed are issues on physical and psychological dependence, and the use of cannabinoids as possible therapeutic agents. Figures and references
