INTEGRATION OF AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON MARIJUANA USE, DISTRIBUTION, ECONOMICS, AND CONTROL, WITH ESTIMATES OF THE EXTENT AND TYPES OF USE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR ASSESSES THE PREVALENCE AND PATTERNS OF MARIJUANA USE DURING THE LAST FEW YEARS TO THE PRESENT TIME. THE MARKET IS DELINEATED WITH RESPECT TO DISTRIBUTION AND ECONOMICS. ATTEMPTS AT CONTROLLING ITS USE ARE REVIEWED AND ANALYZED. CURRENT TRENDS, AVAILABLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRUG, AND USE IN OTHER CULTURES, IS UTILIZED TO ESTIMATE THE FUTURE USE OF MARIJUANA IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS ESTIMATE PROVIDES THE BACKGROUND FOR AN EXAMINATION OF SOME OF THE IMPLICATIONS OF CURRENT AND POSSIBLE FUTURE CONTROL MEASURES AND THEIR ALTERNATIVES.
