Abstract
POLICE OFFICER STUDENTS ARE GIVEN INFORMATION ON WHAT TO DO WHEN A CALL IS RECEIVED, HOW TO PLAN THE BEST ROUTE TO THE SCENE, WHAT CODE TO USE WHEN PROCEEDING TO THE SCENE, AND WHAT TO DO AFTER ARRIVING AT THE SCENE. THE HANDBOOK STRESSES THE NEED FOR MAKING A SAFE TRIP TO THE SCENE AND PARKING IN A SAFE MANNER. THE STUDENT IS ADVISED OF THE WAYS TO LEARN OF AN ACCIDENT, SUCH AS VIA A RADIO CALL OR BY MOTORIST INFORMATION. DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT, SUCH AS SEVERITY, CASUALTIES, HELP SUMMONED, IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHEN PROCEEDING TO THE SCENE. STUDENTS ARE URGED TO ANTICIPATE THE SCENE SITUATION, PLAN THE BEST ROUTE, BE AWARE OF IMPAIRED TRAFFIC FLOW AT THE SITE.
