Brief summaries and/or statistical tables are provided under the following headings: Field Operations Bureau; Criminal Investigations; Drug Enforcement Coordinating System; TIPS Hotline; Maryland's Most Wanted; Marijuana Eradication; Drug Training and Education; Drug Interdiction; Commercial Vehicle Enforcement; Crime Laboratory; Volunteers; Automotive Safety Enforcement; Firearms Registration; Asset Seizure; DARE; Explorer Post No. 56; Radio Enhancement; Motor Vehicle Maintenance; Aviation; Expenditures; Calls for Service; Traffic Arrests Summary; Traffic Fatalities; DWI Arrests; Personnel Statistics; and Awards. Significant totals and accomplishments are highlighted, as is a memoriam to an officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1992. The department developed a new Role and Mission statement which emphasized involvement in interjurisdictional crime, specialized investigative functions and services, and criminal enforcement as a consequence of traffic enforcement.
