Abstract
The agency focuses particularly on the use of older volunteers and older workers. Volunteers assist the agency in community services, crime prevention, public relations, communications, and crime analysis. Volunteer rules of conduct cover courtesy, unbecoming conduct, criticism, personal appearance, identification, confidentiality, public trust, suggestions pertaining to services, reporting for duty, use of alcohol or drugs, operation of an agency motor vehicle, and other agency equipment. Volunteers are protected by personal insurance, accident and injury insurance, and automobile fleet liability insurance. Volunteers are recruited from community organizations and are screened by Crime Prevention Unit personnel prior to acceptance.
