Abstract
FOLLOWING AN OVERVIEW OF MPI DEVELOPMENT, ORGANIZATION, AND OPERATIONS, MPI IS MEASURED AGAINST EXEMPLARY PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA - MEASURABILITY, GOAL ACHIEVEMENT, EFFICIENCY, REPLICABILITY, AND ACCESSIBILITY. REFERENCES ARE MADE TO THE ARTHUR D. LITTLE, INC., EVALUATION OF THE MPI (NCJ-39944). MAJOR STRENGTHS OF THE MPI PROJECT ARE IDENTIFIED AS FOLLOWS: HIGH LEVEL OF ACCEPTANCE AND CREDIBILITY, ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY, RANGE OF SERVICES, STAFF QUALIFICATIONS, ORIENTATION TO SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED TOWN POLICE DEPARTMENTS, AND ORIENTATION TO POLICE CHIEFS.
