THE USE OF PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION CAN INSURE RAPID AND SIGNIFICANT LEARNING FOR PARTICIPANTS.
Abstract
PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION LENDS ITSELF TO A SYSTEMS APPROACH IN WHICH THE THREEFOLD CONTINGENCIES OF REINFORCEMENT STIMULUS, RESPONSE, AND CONSEQUENCE, MAY BE APPLIED. LEARNING IS NOT LIMITED BY A TEACHER'S KNOWLEDGE AND CAN BE MEASURED AGAINST EXPECTED PERFORMANCE. THE USE OF PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION IN AN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IS DEMONSTRATED IN THE INDIVIDUALLY PRESCRIBED INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM AT DRAPER CORRECTIONAL CENTER, ELMORE, ALABAMA.
