This article summarizes recent findings concerning the determination of blood groups by an analysis of body secretions and offers some information about how to improve the preservation of traces.
Abstract
It also reviews historically the origins of medicolegal concerns and the development of serology as a forensic science. The article concludes that for the future it can be expected that the determination of isoenzymes will be further developed, especially with regard to secretions. Furthermore, the analysis of traces will be improved by methods allowing the determination of certain factors of the Rh-system and the MN-system. Charts are provided. (Author abstract modified)
