Abstract
THE FIRST PAPER IS AN 'EXPOSE' OF THE CONDITIONS AT JESSUP. THE SECOND IS A CASE STUDY OF THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SUPPRESSION ON MEDICAL EXPERIMENTATION. TWO SECTIONS DEAL WITH LETTERS OF SUPPORT FOR HALTING EXPERIMENTS AND WITH PRESS CLIPPINGS. SEVERAL STATEMENTS FROM PRISONERS WHO WERE THE SUBJECTS OF MEDICAL EXPERIMENTS ARE INCLUDED. THE CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED BY THE AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION IS REPRODUCED. THE RESULTS OF A SURVEY OF THE STATES ON OFFICIAL POLICY AND UNOFFICIAL PRACTICE WITH REGARD TO INMATE EXPERIMENTS IS ALSO PRESENTED.
