This Statement of Intent of New Zealand's expanded Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) shows the progress made by the Ministry in defining its direction for the period July 1, 2004-June 30, 2005.
Abstract
Part 1, "Strategic Context," provides an overview of the justice sector and describes its links with other agencies. Information is provided on the collaborative approach to sector planning and achievements in progress toward justice sector outcomes. Part 1 also profiles the role and functions of the Ministry and its strategy for achieving its objectives. It also summarizes the Ministry's plans for the next 3 years. Part 2, "Forecast Service Performance and Financial Statements," describes the outputs anticipated by the Ministry in 2005/06, including the performance standards and targets associated with those outputs. The Ministry's forecast financial statements are also presented. Part 3, "Supporting Information," presents information on the Ministry's organizational structure; its provision of court services; and details on the Crown entities and other service providers funded under the Vote Justice Nondepartmental Output Classes. Information and data are provided on the number of full-time staff, average length of service, and turnover. Locations for the delivery of court services are indicated as well.
