DESCRIPTION OF A VIDEO TAPE PROGRAM TO PROVIDE IN-SERVICE TRAINING TO POLICE OFFICERS.
Abstract
VIDEO TAPE UNITS WERE LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO ENABLE DEPARTMENTS TO USE TRAINING FILMS AT THEIR CONVENIENCE. THE FILMS THAT WERE USED WERE DEVELOPED IN MINNESOTA AND ARE LISTED IN THE APPENDIX. THIS EVALUATION DOES NOT LOOK AT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING. RATHER, IT MAKES A COST-EFFECTIVE ANALYSIS OF THE DISTRIBUTION AND UTILIZATION OF THE TAPES. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT CADAVRS WAS BEING UTILIZED LESS FREQUENTLY AND BY FEWER AGENCIES AND OFFICERS THAN ANTICIPATED. FURTHERMORE, IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN PLANNED IN TERMS OF TRAINING MAN-HOURS.
