This document describes the Minnesota laws, as of 1994, that regulate the possession or use of firearms or provide penalties for criminal acts involving firearms.
Abstract
These laws cover the eligibility to possess a firearm, the purchase or transfer of a pistol or assault weapon, the carrying of a pistol without a permit, and firearms laws affecting minors. Other laws relate to the types of firearms that are illegal, firearm safety and training requirements, employment-related firearms requirements, reporting and data requirements, the regulation of firearms by local governments, specific crimes related to firearms, and the forfeiture and confiscation of firearms. Firearms laws relating to hunting and miscellaneous laws relating to firearms are also summarized.
