Abstract
A task force is defined as consisting of two or more county sheriff's offices; one or more county sheriff's offices and one or more municipal or other local law enforcement agencies; or three or more municipal or other local law enforcement agencies. Each agency included in the narcotics task force usually donates one officer to be a part of the narcotics task force. Consequently, the focus of the narcotics task force is street- level drug traffickers in the geographic area of the narcotics task force. A total of 74 Minnesota counties and one North Dakota county are covered by the task forces whose data are included in this report. Summary statistics and statistics for each task force are supplied by quarter for 1990. Data on task force activity show the number of cases on file for each quarter, the number of cases worked, arrest warrants, number of arrests, search warrants issued, and search warrants used. The number of weapons seized are presented by type of weapon, and the weight of drugs seized is presented by type of drug. The weight of drugs purchased is presented by type of drug, and the number of arrests are presented by gender, race, age at arrest, repeat offender, and the court where the case was filed. Data on arrests by type of drug and type of drug activity are also included.
