This report summarizes the fiscal year 1981 activities of the Minnesota Office of Ombudsman for Corrections.
Abstract
The report is organized to present the current status of the Office through an analysis of the intake, investigations, and recommendations. The report provides information about the Ombudsman's jurisdiction, the extent of the Ombudsman's authority, the number of complaints that are filed each year with the Ombudsman, and the general nature of the complaints that are filed. It also explains how long it takes the Ombudsman to investigate a complaint, how successful the Ombudsman is in resolving complaints, and the size of the Ombudsman's staff and budget. A map, tables, graphs, and appended statute and policy recommendations are provided. (Author abstract modified)
